ROANA LOGO 2026
Client: Roana Art and Design (self)
Goal: A logomark to complement existing type-only logo
Deliverables: Logo suite
Platforms / Programs: Adobe Illustrator
Summary:
This project involved creating a meaningful and cohesive logo for my own brand, inspired by personal values, artistic influences, and a deep connection to visual communication design. The final logo features a flower blooming from an eye, symbolizing growth, creativity, and the brand’s mission to help businesses “visually grow and bloom.”
Artist’s Description:
I've always admired the brandmarks from Allan Peters, but struggled to create one for myself that I felt encompassed me and my business. After hours of mind-mapping, sketching, and just letting the ideas ruminate, I finally landed on the logo present on my site today: a flower blooming from an eye.
The circle was included to provide unity with the rest of the logo. Outfit is a very round font, and the logomark, if it were to be alongside the type, would need to match. The eye is for my degree - visual communication design. On a broader scale, it represents the visual arts, which have always been an important part of my life. The eyelashes are for femininity - though I'm not the most feminine person myself, my art style leans towards femininity, and I value the feminine aspect of my art and design styles as a tool to represent women and femininity. The flower ties back into the name Roana - "roanna" in Latin means rose, though the flower in the logo was simplified to a three-petal design to remain stylistically consistent. The flower blooming from the eye is for the goal of Roana: to make businesses visually grow and bloom.
The addition of the new header font, Clash, into my brand visuals (see the page header!) serves to give my typography more variety. It also provides a certain edginess and modernity that I felt was missing from the brand before.
