A brand is a recognizable reputation. This may start with a logo, colors, and fonts, but it doesn't end with them. Roana isn't here to just help you visually represent your company; we help you visually represent how you want customers to feel about you. A local bakery with an outdated logo is not a brand - it's a business with an ineffective logo. Crumbl is a brand. The goal is to be synonymous with your industry in your area - I make sure you look the part.
Were you ever told in a marketing class or by an online marketer that your “brand” needs values, a personality, and a mission? Well, it does. But what they don't tell you is that clients don't actually care about that stuff. Almost no one will read your brand story or values: people only care about how your story intersects with theirs. That's what a real brand designer does: they understand the inner workings of your brand, and it's their job, my job, to portray all that to potential customers in a way that will immediately show your value to them.

I'm the designer behind Roana Art and Design. I'm an artist and designer from Upstate NY. My usual style is modern, clean, and colorful with a feminist and environmentalist flair, combined with illustrative aspects from my fine arts background.

GRAPHIC DESIGN:

THE WORK PROCESS:

Intro call.

Receive and sign the contract and statement of work.​
​*For first-time and/or non-referral clients, a deposit may be necessary to test payment methods and provide security for the designer. The deposit will be $100 and will be counted towards your first invoice (A $200 invoice will become $100 to account for the deposit.)

Send all existing brand files (if applicable).

Fill out the onboarding questionnaire.

Roana will begin work! Please wait patiently for the first version of your designs.

You'll get the files for your deliverable. Give any feedback you have, take time to think about it, or show friends and family - do whatever you need to! Time waiting for approval or feedback does not count towards Roana's hours.

If the design needs changes, repeat steps 5 and 6 until the final design is approved. Revisions are unlimited but are priced the same as regular work.

If in a monthly contract, you'll get a monthly net-30 contract at the start of each month. Work for the next month will continue during the pay period, and the process will continue as needed.

If in a fixed contract, once final assets are approved, you’ll get the final invoice. You will have up to 30 days to pay the final invoice, depending on the terms of your contract. Once paid, you'll receive access to your final files (build files included) via Google Drive or another storage system.
Timekeeping
& Payment
Roana keeps time hourly in 15-minute increments. The base price for art and design services is $50/hour. The discovery/intro call is not counted towards your total.
You will receive a full contract with legal necessities and a statement of work based on what was discussed during the intro call.
After the end of the contract, minor edits taking less than 10 minutes are complimentary (free!)
Communicating With Your Designer
Using a time-based payment system means communication is key. Effective communication makes sure your time and money aren't wasted.
Here's what we can do to maximize our efforts:

​Find and send references to your designer. Show them color palettes, fonts, and design elements you like. This helps them get an idea of what you're visualizing.

Keep communications to email or to a phone/video call with notes. Keep a record of communications to look back on. If you prefer one method of communication over another (ex. calls over email) make sure you tell your designer.

Be honest with feedback. If you don't like something, bring it up quickly so it can be fixed in a timely manner.

Be specific with your feedback. Try to describe exactly what you do or don't like about a particular design: “The yellow is too bright” or “the design feels too plain” is more effective than “I just don't like it.”
Generative AI Policy
Roana has a strict Anti-Generative AI and Anti-NFT policy. ChatGPT and other generative AI models give you visuals based on what others have made. Roana makes you custom, unique visuals based on what you need and what you're trying to accomplish. We think past the prompt and consider the humans on the receiving end of your business.
