SMS Generators

Power Company

SMS Generators is a joint project with D. Jolie Creative. I set up a proper logo suite for the company and created a small brand board for visual direction. With the new assets in hand, Danielle and I transferred and combined their old Webflow websites into one newly designed WIX website & store. With new copy courtesy of Danielle and a new look by me, SMS Generators began using their new website and store in June 2025. The new consolidated website is easier to use, and the new modern and bold design puts them visually on par with (or, dare I say, above) their competitors. Later, we would also design branded decals for their generators, as well as update their website in accordance with local events.

The Details

SMS Generators began work with D. Jolie Creative on a revamped brand, who then brought me on as a contractor. Their original ask of me was an updated logo, and while we didn't end up parting with the original brandmark, I changed the font and provided a full, dynamic suite of logos. I also created an associated brand visual identity to match - combining their original colors (red and black) with grays, metallic textures, and bold new fonts.

Their website was next, and they wanted to combine their Webflow website and separate Webflow store into one. After some deliberation, they agreed to my proposal of switching to Wix. This way, they'd have both a store and website, and it would be easier for the owners to manage on the back end and make small changes on their own, if needed.

The website design itself is mostly grayscale, which makes their signature red very eye-catching and perfect for creating emphasis. It’s cohesive, bold, and sets them apart from their competitors. We avoided iconography, particularly cliché imagery like lightning bolts, to keep it modern and masculine. The devil is in the details on this website; the red periods and the cutout corner of their callout boxes are small details that kept it simple but not understated.

I also briefly worked on decals for them: simple logo decals for their trucks and designed decals for their generators. The decals are also on-brand, so their materials remain cohesive across mediums.

I am no longer maintaining the Website; the project has concluded and it's been handed off to the client's team. (The current state of the website may not reflect the original work done by Roana Art and Design.)
